Last night was the Miss USA Pageant 2009 and it was so fun to watch! I love seeing the evening gowns and trying to guess who is gonna win :) However, I am pretty bugged about something that happened last night. I felt really bad for Miss California. She made it to the top 5 and her interview question was given to her by Perez Hilton. He of course had to ask an extremely controversial question which was just mean to begin with. He asked her if she thinks same sex marriage should be made legal in all states and she answered No. It's sad because either way she is going to make somebody mad. She easily could have said yes to please the gay community, but she stood up for what she believed in. You could tell that she was pretty nervous and even though she didn't answer quite as eloquently as she could have, I was really impressed that shes stood up for what she believed in. I'm just really annoyed that Perez Hilton even asked the question because whoever got it was screwed and just because it wasn't what he wanted to hear, he is now bashing on her and calling her a dumb biotch. I mean grow up! Sorry that not everyone agrees with you. Get over it!! Anywho, here is a video of her interview question and how she responded.

I didn't see the pageant, but I saw her interview on the Today show. I was so impressed with her because Matt asked her if she knew she would win if she changed her answer and got a do over would she answer differently? And She saw NO absolutely not. She knew it might offend some, but she felt strongly she should stand for what she believed in. I think the question was stupid too, but I would rather she be honest either way, than to side step and be vague just to be "politicallly correct". I think she's awesome!
